Should you call the vet?

Check anything your cat is showing right now:

• Labored, open-mouth or very fast breathingCats rarely pant. Open-mouth breathing at rest is an emergency.
• Collapsed, unresponsive, or seizing
• Male cat straining in the litter box with little or no urinePossible urinary blockage — life-threatening within hours.
• Uncontrolled bleeding, hit by car, or major trauma
• Hasn't eaten in 24–48 hoursCats can develop hepatic lipidosis quickly when fasting.
• Vomiting more than 2–3 times today, or vomiting blood
• Diarrhea with blood, or lasting more than 2 days
• Hiding, hunched posture, or crying when touched
• Limping for more than 24 hours
• Noticeable weight loss over the past few weeks
• Drinking or urinating a lot more than usualCommon early sign of kidney disease, diabetes, or hyperthyroidism.
• Coat looks greasy, matted, or unkempt
• Just seems a little 'off' but eating and drinking
